This standby position is based from Lightning Transport's Cliffwood, New Jersey fleet yard and is intended for drivers who can reliably report there for nearby assignments. Unlike our OTR positions, its near-daily-home schedule makes proximity to the fleet yard important.
This is a part-time-style solo position for drivers who want to go home almost every day. Drivers generally work 3–6 days per week and remain available for nearby deliveries.
You may be called to make a delivery that is very close to the yard rather than running the long-haul OTR routes used by our other solo positions.
The starting rate is $325 per day. If you're in the truck for the workday, the daily rate applies whether you're driving or waiting at a delivery to load or unload.
Your CDL-A license must be at least two years old because of our insurance requirements.
Applicants must be at least 23 years old and meet company insurance and safety requirements.
