Qualified CDL-A holders from across the United States may apply for Lightning Transport's driver training pathway. Training and fleet operations are based from our Cliffwood, New Jersey yard; applicants do not need to live in New Jersey.
Many carriers want previous professional driving experience. Lightning Transport has a training pathway for qualified CDL-A holders who have not had the opportunity to build that experience.
Your CDL-A must have been held for at least two years because of our insurance requirements. That is not the same thing as requiring two years of driving experience.
Have a CDL-A but never had a real trucking job? You may still qualify if your license meets our two-year insurance requirement.
You train in an actual Lightning truck with an instructor rather than trying to figure out professional trucking on your own.
All applicants must meet our insurance, safety and hiring requirements. We look at the actual applicant rather than relying only on a generic experience requirement.
