Lightning Transport accepts qualified solo OTR driver applicants from across the United States. Our fleet yard and reporting location is in Cliffwood, New Jersey, but drivers do not need to live in New Jersey. Drivers who remain on the road for at least four consecutive weeks receive free transportation to and from work anywhere in the country.
Our solo OTR position pays a flat $325 per day to start. If you're in the truck for the workday, you're paid the daily rate whether you're driving, waiting to get loaded, waiting to get unloaded, or otherwise stuck at a delivery.
This is not a mileage-based position.
Solo equipment is primarily Volvo tractors from around the 2016 model year, with refrigerated trailers.

After four consecutive weeks on the road, Lightning provides free transportation to and from work anywhere in the country.
